LONG BEACH, Calif. – May 5, 2011Stakeholders of the propane autogas advocacy group Autogas for America have a notable presence at this year’s Alternative Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo, May 4–6 in Long Beach, California Autogas advocates in attendance will highlight industry developments and the benefits of propane autogas for public and private fleets in the United States.

Several Autogas for America members attending the expo are also featured presenters. Other stakeholder panelists in the Expo include PERC President Roy Willis, ROUSH CleanTech Vice President Todd Mouw, and Chelsea Jenkins, Executive Director of Virginia Clean Cities Coalition and Project Administrator for the Southeast Propane Autogas Development Program.

Propane autogas is the most widely used alternative fuel in the world. The cost of getting fleets operating on autogas—including infrastructure, vehicle conversions and/or the purchase of OEM vehicles—is much less than for other alternative fuels. Vehicles running on autogas experience substantially reduced emissions and will save more than $1 per gallon versus gasoline-fueled vehicles. Additionally, utilizing autogas helps lessen our addiction to foreign oil: 90 percent of the U.S. autogas supply is made-in-America.
